How does a student benefit by participating in the NSTSE/UCO/UIEO?
NSTSE, UEO & UIEO, curriculum-based examinations, are very useful for students who wish to assess their strengths and weaknesses in Maths, Science, Computers and English. As an integral part of the academia, these programmes will have a far-reaching effect on the competitive spirit of young minds. Based on a ‘skill blueprint’, highly experienced educational specialists develop these assessment tests. The analysis of the performance is made at individual student level, class, school and country levels.

Who is eligible?
Students of classes I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI (PCM), XI(PCB), XII(PCM), XII (PCB) are eligible to appear for NSTSE.
Students of classes II-X are eligible for UCO & UIEO also.
I am interested in taking part in the NSTSE. How will I come to know about the details of the exam ? You can contact your school’s Principal/In-charge Teacher for taking part. Your school also can participate in this examination.

Myself and few of my friends are interested in taking part in Unified Council’s exams, but our school has yet not received any information. What do we do ?

What is the syllabus?
NSTSE is based on the CBSE syllabus. 85% of that syllabus is considered for setting the NSTSE Question Paper. Pre defined UCO syllabus:…… Pre defined UIEO syllabus: ….. All our question papers are suitable also for students following ICSE/ISC and various other State Board syllabi.

What is the structure and pattern of the examination ?
There will be a different Question paper for each class. All the questions are objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers.

Are NSTSE, UCO and UIEO conducted only in English ?
Yes. The medium of conducting these exams is only English.

When are the results of NSTSE/UCO/UIEO declared ?
Results of NSTSE/UCO/UIEO are declared normally 40 days after the exam date.

Yes, you will receive your ‘Admit Card’, two weeks before the examination. In case you do not receive the ‘Admit Card’.

For participating in the forthcoming NSTSE/UCO/UIEO, I have given/printed my name wrongly.
All corrections whatsoever which are liable to be made, can be carried out at the examination centre itself. Some changes may need to be supported by other documents for authentication.

I am an NRI willing to participate in NSTSE/UCO/UIEO, how can I participate ?
We thank you for taking interest in NSTSE/UCO/UIEO. Venue of the NSTSE/UCO/UIEO will be respective schools (other than India). So we do not accept individual application forms.

Why do students of the same class with similar total marks have different National Ranks ?
When more than one student gets an equal top score, priority for awarding rank will be according to marks acquired in the following specified order of subjects : Mathematics (Biology for PCB group), Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Questions for NSTSE. Mental ability, Reasoning, Computer and English for UCO. Vocabulary & Functional Grammar, Reading Comprehension & Interactive English for UIEO.

I want to know my rank at city level of NSTSE/UCO/UIEO. I could not find it on your website.
Yes, you will receive your ‘Admit Card’, two weeks before the examination. In case you do not receive the ‘Admit Card’.

We only declare All India and State/Zone Ranks. City-wise achievers of NSTSE are declared only for selected cities.
Note :City Rank (for every Class) will be declared for the classes having a minimum participation of 500 students in a particular city.

I scored All India Rank 95. Why am I not been shown in City-wise toppers’ list ?
Yours is an All India rank (AIR), at a higher level. Your rank is based on All India Level participation while City rank is based only on a particular City level.
Note: City-wise toppers are declared excluding top 100 All India Ranks & State Toppers.

I appeared for NSTSE/UCO/UIEO. Will I get a certificate ?
We send a Participation Certificate & Student’s Performance Report only if a student has opted for the same in his application.
