Why UIGKO?

The world is changing fast and we need to make sure that the students of today are prepared to meet the challenges of the future.

To keep up with the increasing pace of transformation in education, competence and life, young students need to be tooled with Life Skills such as Communications, Teamwork, Leadership, Critical Thinking, Ethics, Smart Consumer Literacy, and many more. Today’s student will have to face many new challenges over the course of their lives, with associated stress, frustration, and the need to evolve. While the academic realm encompasses a curriculum focus; it is lacking direction on skills required beyond the text.

Unified council addresses by assessing and Practising Critical Life Skills such as General Knowledge, Current affairs, Critical and creative thinking, Self-Management, Communication, Economic Common Sense, Decision Making and a whole range of other 21st century skills to students for leading life to its fullest potential.

Why UIGKO?

Having a strong foundation in 21st century skills is the Key to become a Successful Human Being and a Global Citizen. We know the fact that the students who are able to understand and use these skills, along with their school education, will be much better placed to take advantage of the personal and professional opportunities in future.

Unified International General Knowledge Olympiad (UIGKO) is to test students on these 21st century Critical Life Skills, and to compare the same with the most skilled students across the globe through UIGKO.

Students of Grade 1 to 10 from all over the world will test their Skills Aptitude using real-world scenario based questions, While preparing for this highly engaging test, students will also get exposed to acquire new life skills, With students from 30+ countries (11 million) participating, they all get to learn and evolve as truly Global Citizens.

Eligibility:

Student of classes 1, 2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 & 10 are eligible to participate in this examination.

Exam Pattern:

There will be a different question paper for each class. All the questions are objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers.

Syllabus

UIGKO question papers are more class-specific than syllabus-specific. Please refer the syllabus provided.

Unified International General Knowledge Olympiad question papers are suitable for students following CBSE/ICSE/ISC and various other State Board syllabi.

Note: For all the above sections, except in case of Critical Thinking, the questions carrying 1 mark each for the correct answer.

In Critical Thinking, there are 5 questions (For classes 1 to 4: Question number 36 to 40 and For classes 5 to 10: Question Number 46 to 50), each question carries 3 marks.

Awards

A. The top Ranker and next 2 rankers in each class are awarded a Laptop and a Tablet PC respectively + a Memento, each.

B. The next 7 rankers of each class (Ranks 4-10) are awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000 each.

Rankers of class 1 to 9 from 1-25, 26-50, 51-100 each are awarded with Olympiad Coach Online Subscription worth Rs. 3996, Rs. 2997, Rs. 1998, a Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation respectively.

Prizes For Zone Toppers

Top 3 rankers in each Zone are awarded with Olympiad Coach Online Subscription worth Rs. 1998,, a Medal and Certificate of Appreciation.

Note: Zone-wise ranks are declared after excluding the top 100 ranks across the country.

Class Topper

We declare 3 Class Toppers per class in each School.Class Toppers are awarded a medal and a Certificate of Appreciation.

A student is considered a ‘class topper’ only if the class has a minimum of 5 participants. The 2nd and 3rd rankings will be awarded only if the number of participants in a class is more than 10 and 15 respectively. Overall, 10% of participants from every class are declared as Class Rankers. Class Rankers (acquiring marks 50% and above) are awarded a Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation, each.

Certificate and Student’s Performance Report (SPR) for all the participants.

Interpreting Results

Ranking: When more than one student gets an equal top score, priority for awarding ranks will be according to the marks acquired in the specified order of sections in the question paper.

In case of a tie in deciding a rank because of the same marks, the time taken for completing the test is considered for deciding the rank. One who has taken less time for completing, gets the upper rank.

Institutional Awards

Best Performance Award – School

One Best Performance School Award in each zone (17 zones) will be presented to the top performing school. The Principal and Teacher in-Charge of the respective schools will be awarded with Best Contribution in Computer Education Award and a Cash Prize of Rs.3000 each.

Top Mentor -Zone Awards

The Principal and the Teacher-in-charge of top 3 schools with the highest participation from each Zone (with a minimum of 300 schools’ participation) are awarded a Cash Prize of `1500 + a Certificate, each.

Best Participation School

Certificate of Appreciation will be presented to all the schools which forward more than 100 applications.

All the co-ordinating Teachers in-charge of the UIEO will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.

How to Apply

Please send a single consolidated Demand Draft towards the exam fee of all the students appearing for the UIGKO from your school.

D.D. should be drawn in favour of UNIFIED COUNCIL payable at HYDERABAD.

Frame the list of students in the given format (preferably typed) and send it to our address along with the D.D by Courier Service/Register post / Speed Post.

Note: Venue of the UIGKO will be respective schools only. There is no open centre facility for this examination. So we do not accept individual applications forms for UIGKO. Students are requested to apply through respective schools only.
